If I see Duck Soup come on, I'll put a tape in for you and send it to you just for the postage if you want another copy..... The movie Mr. Roberts is another of my all-time favorites, but I like The Out of Towners better for personal reasons. Back when the movie was being made, I was an older teenager delivering and picking up advertising proofs in New York City to places like Saks 5th Avenue and Lord and Taylor, etc, and one day they had me on a route near Central Park, and I was walking toward my destination minding my own business, when I paused before crossing the street and there was this "crazy guy" ranting and raving in the middle of the street, not too far from the intersection. He looked pretty disheveled for someone wearing a suit, and apparently had'nt shaved for a while..... So I'm standing there watching him and he comes right up to me, looks me straight in the eyes and starts complaining about everything in the world and NYC while marching back and forth in the street!
I finally said to myself this guy is nuts and went on with my route! It was not until years later after watching the Out of Towners that I realized that crazy guy was Jack Lemmon getting ready to play his scene in the movie, and that I missed saying hello. Lemmon is such a good actor, he had me completely fooled that he was some nut case. Oh well, as an older teenager I had different things on my mind at the time! <g>
