One always hears comparisons with 1929.

For sure there were manyr factors in play then that
are not true today but what I found most fascinating
(and frightening) were the completely ineffective policies that were instituted by both the Fed and the government
to fend off the depression. And every policy only succeeded
in making it worse. I dont believe we will see a depression
of the same magnitude but I do believe that the Fed and
Government policies that we can expect to see in the not
too distant future will be equally ineffective, not too
mention downright harmful as they were then.

They just cannot leave well enough alone.
