I have nurse, doctors and dentists in my family. I assure you that the DEA is ALWAYS a consideration for the "Schedule" narcotics. Try to get a Dr. to prescribe you marijuana for depression or treatment of nausea. Even though it works very well for these purposes, they'd rather give you something else because it is on the radar screen of the DEA as a drug of abuse.

Heroine addiction in the aged is incredibly rare. There seems to be an automatic remission from addiction that typically happens in the person's 40's. Addiction can be managed better than pain, IMO. I'd rather be unconscious than feeling pain.
