<<manufacturers of semiconductor equipment report Feb book to bill .81 That is an 18% drop from January's .99>>

HO HO HO! POS is TOAST!

Of course it'll probably get spun something like "They're cutting costs by buying less equipment, therefore they must be BOUGHT!" <NG>

<<manufacturers of semiconductor equipment report Feb book to bill 0.81. That is an 18% drop from January's .99>>

And all of the change was from a drop in new orders (the "book" part). Shipping (the "bill" part) hardly changed.

Remember that this number is a THREE-MONTH moving average. So October dropped out and January was added in. In other words, January was a total, unmitigated disaster.

Riechers:

Heh, heh, heh,.......I am still humping AMAT (slightly under water , but blowing ballast faster than a surfacing U.S. sub). (g)

I am slowly but surely adding to core positions and this little tulip bulb is one of the best. I will add on any strength.

I blew out most of my trading stuff today, as a rally is likely and the Fed must be having midnight meetings. I'll re-establish if they do pump the limp balloon up a bit.
Nasty down days like Friday and today are wonderful opportunities for bears who are not greedy. (g)

Best, Earlie
