Jacob,
I remember the october 1998 capitulation and rebound quite well. At the end of the fall a stock like amat would have been in the upper 30's on a day like today before rebounding. Maybe that will be tomorrow mornings story. Can we turn without that kind of fire sale?
I work in NY and sell tech to banks and brokerages. From 9am on, there was no optimism anywhere. People were talking like the end was near(the end of the world). Maybe it's the end of the bear. If it is the next two days could be messy. I hope we can turn without that additional pain. Mike

Jacob,

It's amazing that nobody wants to buy these quality growth stocks, when they loved them at prices three to five times higher not so long ago. What has changed about the longterm prospects for AMAT, CSCO, EMC, TXN, etc.? Nothing.

Well said....this is one thing that always has me shaking my head during times like these.
