Stocks have moved so low that their way out of the abyss is further and further away and since the tech sector is in fact, in turmoil, short way is the best way. We have also said that any rally on a strongly downtrending stock is a potential short bait, but there are STILL hazards to holding shorts when the "beef" of the short is past and we are scraping the barrel, as you can see by the WEBM and ONIS buy triggers on Friday. If anyone were short WEBM or ONIS I DOUBT very strongly they would have held that short through this bear flag recovery which ONIS, WEBM and even IWOV had last two sessions. Nor can I get convinced that ANYONE held many shorts through the AMAT and CIEN rallies. These writers of articles are very very good after the fact, and I can write one just as good having seen what actually transpired today, but in reality textbook type articles like this have all the right words, but I don't believe for one moment that this gentleman himself would have held through a rally, or can't appreciate how much money there is on the upside during ONLY ONE rally. The article sounds great NOW that all the 'hidden cards' that we traders we wish we could have gotten a peek at BEFORE the fact are turned over face up on the table. When the last piece of the puzzle is found it is easier to put together the jigsaw.. We are still bearish but to hold shorts on stocks trading at 40 and $50 is unnecessary when you can reshort anytime you want to. There is never any problem shorting these techs, there are ALWAYS novice traders willing to jump in thinking the bottom has been found. Intradday I'm way more aggressive in holding the shorts through 'fake rallies' but at the end of the day having held through much downside, I still feel that a bird in hand is worth more than 2 in the bush and that intraday aggressiveness is far better than holding overnight when you really have NO CONTROL of what the morning will bring.
