rich, the last 38 out of 40 budgets were prepared by democrats pal,all those miserable jerks did was buy votes and bankrupt the country and more than a few people also. While you contend that clinton balanced the deficit you are so very wrong (again) he raised taxes and spending, it just so happened that the dems LOST the house and the Senate and the republicans as gutless as they proved to be stopped the liberal losers from spending it all, thats called a surplus and it was created by overtaxing the American people,Clinton spent more than any president in history, and what do we have to show for it,stupid people like you, lined up to kiss his feet.how does it feel to be you.Must be a nightmare with the house, the senate, the supreme court, and the oval office ,and many state offices all in the republicans hands. TOO BAD One could pay off the deficit created by dems in just a few years if one wanted to raise taxes high enough, that does not take a genius to figure out.But you won`t!!!!Why do you hate the wealthy, and by the way it was lack of money after paying clintons tax increases that crashed the markets, there is only so much to go around, along with the feds trying to destroy microsoft, for every action there is in fact a reaction and while clinton enjoyed Reagan/Bush policies,we must now pay for clintons, or are you blaming the last two quarters on Bush also, when there are no wealthy people left for leaches like you to suck off of, what will you do?

<<you fat cats >> ??? Not me. With 36 years of service, I make approximately 4.9 times the poverty level of $11,531 . My wife's wages would put her in the poverty column if she had to support herself. That hardly puts me in the fat cat realm. census.gov

Come on now, Rich, jealousy is a very unworthy emotion.

"All I know is that under Clinton the deficit shrank dramatically, and under Reagan it exploded"

You are correct and here are the figures to prove it.

It is interesting that in spite of the shrinking deficit we are still adding to our national debt. We have actually added over a Trillion during Clinton's presidency and we obviously are not running a surplus as the debt continues to increase.

The best argument against tax decreases is that we have no surplus and probably will not have one. As the economy returns to normal and if we have a recession, we will once again have deficits.

You may have overstated the case about the market "tanking" today. Personally, my self-directed 401k increased by 6.4%. Must have been some other guys that "tanked " the market. Or was I just lucky. Funny, I don't feel lucky; I feel rewarded for doing an reasonable job of selecting my portfolio components and allocation thereof.
