Hi ftth:

There are only 4 companies that have claims on high-rate radios: CRNT and TNSI
with fast/Gigabit-Ethernet protocol radios and STXN with Sonet/SDH type radios, all at high
frequencies, and WMUX at lower frequencies (also fast/Gigabit-Ethernet). They all have
specific claims: STXN about spectral efficiency, and CRNT/TNSI about rates with
Ethernet protocol (although CRNT's PR is a bit ahead of where developments really
stand).

I think that all these announcements are somewhat real, in the sense that all these
radios will be FCC qualified and deployed by the end of the year/beginning of next
year. The key issue is what the size of the market will be, with the complete
collapse of Capex $.

Best regards,

Bernard Levy
