Ericsson and Stanford University: ERICSSON: PILOTS "FAST TRACK" RESEARCH WITH UNIVERSITIES
(News agency Direkt) -- Ericsson has decided to team up with Stanford University in the United States and Lund University in Sweden to launch a new type of "fast track" joint research program intended to work on supply chain management issues for the telecommunications and Internet industries, according to a press statement.

Ericsson plans a direct investment of approximately 1 million dollars a year over the next five years in this research program

As I said: Message 15362454
"I worked in a big telecom vendor that has 150 tools to track orders. It would cost USD100 million to replace them all. So they are still there. But there are existing solutions for that. Now they have "supply centers", spread all over the world, where people act as middle man between their local companies, (they call it marketing units now) and the people who really have the goods to deliver. They are asking to be laid off."

Finally they are addressing the issue of supplyt chain!!!
