Hi Robert.
Any comment on Herb G.'s piece on Valence today?

Care to speculate why he seems to be writing a lot of negative articles about Valence lately?

Oh...and can one of you boys please say "hello" for me to David Comarow, Lev and all my pals at Valence when you get the chance. Thanks!

Finally, battery basics: The Sunday Tribune in Ireland did an interesting piece on Valence (VLNC:Nasdaq - news - boards), which included a few quotes from me. The story quotes Valence CEO Lev Dawson as saying he doesn't respond to my inquiries because "Greenberg tries to stir trouble without anything to back up his arguments."
The writer then says: "But Dawson is short on firm details about the business. Ask him about what deals the company is working on at the moment or future strategy and he says that Valence isn't looking for a lot of publicity at the moment, but that press releases could be issued right now regarding new deals 'if Valence chose to do so.' He's not even too sure of the amount of batteries that the only manufacturing plant produces every month, but says it must be 'hundreds of thousands.' For a company that seems to be operating in a cutthroat market, you'd imagine that publicity would be a real bonus..."

You would, indeed. One of the many mysteries behind the Valence.
