>>The thing that is so crazy with all this is the retail sector showing gains. >>

I think the retail sector has become the "flight to safety" momentum play recently. If you look at the charts, they look eerily similar....double tops everywhere, money flow abysmal, out perform or strong buy recs abundant, CNBC touting retail as the bargain sector to be buying, massive insider sales......smacks of a serious top to me. Every mall I visit is empty, and most stores have 70-90% sales...yes 90% off merchandise. Have I been buying? you betcha...Are they making a dime off me....nope, not at 90% off!
Institutions have been taking bigger and bigger positions in some of these stocks, being afraid to dip their toes into tech, and when they want to get out, who are they gonna sell to?

Paul, I agree and horsegirl same here. CPI just came out at .6 and .3 core. PPI wasn't an apparation and now we might be in real trouble with stagflation. OUch!

Late for work, have to go.

Good Luck,

Lee

HG, most people like you go under the mattress, no wonder the retailers are slow.
