people are really talking stagflation. think about inflation benificiary's. Terry W. on the Market Lab thread reminded me yesterday that I had been talking about TRU,a while ago. which is a small cap royalty trust 173 mill or so. ( I think Mike mentioned TRU to me originally.a year ago) they own oil and gas properties in Ok and Tx. they've been paying a 12% dividend and have more than doubled this year. Mike was in RJR for more than a double this year, made some nice money in FAX, an AUD closed end bond fund that has had over a 50% return. (stay out of FAX for the next month until they reset their dividend in March as it may well go down and the stock take a real hit) there are areas to make money. the heavy tech focus has been a killer.
