Remember that Greed also comes in at bottoms.

At the moment I would say that the predominant factor is fear. Fear of getting cleaned out.If you have any doubt about this, talk to a few investors that recently loaded up on ORCL, CSCO, DELL, SUNW, NT, JDSU. I'm sure they considered themselves great investors and figured they would out slick the market. Last I heard they would all like their money back. If six months from now we slide into a recession in spite of a few more interest rate cuts. AMAT and a whole lot of stuff I own won't be worth a warm beer two years down the road.

I believe in the late 30's interest rates were being cut. But it didn't stop the depression because people didn't have any money to invest. What would happen in our environment if the Fed cut interest rates ( as Michael would like) and unemployment kept rising? History repeats itself, but not in the exact same way.

Go with caution.... Jerome
