you forgot to add the word "long-term" in front of the word shareholders.

(technically they are stockholders for Delaware corporations).

The scenario I'm thinking about. Suppose Mr. Sanders were to decide to very aggressively go after market share with very low prices. And assume it worked (though I'm not sure it would), and AMD started to take significant share from Intel. What would be Intel's response? You can bet that they would defend the business with whatever resources they have, and they have a lot of resources. And would the stockholders approve, I know I would.

I wouldn't underestimate Intel's resolve to maintain share. I can't see them waving the white flag if Mr. Sanders gets aggressive.
