I agree completely, Martin. The definition of "Capitulation" is, "the complete and total surrender of individual investors of their stock positions, so that the larger institutional investors may buy them at greatly reduced prices; Capitulation typically marks the bottom of a downward trend in stock prices."

As sick as the whole concept of capitulation is. . . .I agree that it is the single element that is missing. But I haven't given up hope that the Individual Investor is gradually becoming smarter than that [thanks in large part to forums like this one]. . . .and that the whole concept of capitulation will one day become passe.
