<<What happens if Sun has a positive announcement they've been holding for the meeting? Will Merrill recant?>>

Again, I am a sunw long, but I for one do not expect anything too positive to come from this mid quarter report......I think they will do as all others have and lower the bar due to slowdown in spending and uncertain economic conditions. I will be surprised....pleasantly of course, if they come in with real positive guidance....in fact........the meeting is scheduled for after close instead of intra day, and ole whats his name will be there, and he never takes part in these mid quarter meetings.....my guess is sunw will warn just like everybody else has....the question is, is this already priced in, and if not, how low does sunw go.....heck at current price, she is actually turning into a value play....anyway....I will be buying more at sub $15....this is sun microsystems we are talking about, isn't it??!!....hard to believe we are in 2001 and talking sunw and $15 in same breath.......Will I be the only idiot buying at $15, or do others plan to join me if we hit $15 by friday????

Keith

Charles, re: It seems to me that Merrill went out on a limb to downgrade the day before an analyst meeting.

If SUNW was followed by ML's PC or internet analyst it would probably still be rated Buy. BTW, 18 stocks followed by Henry Blodget and his team have higher near-term ratings than SUNW. These include IVIL, EWBX, ATHM.
