JRI, America is in denial.I deal, as a doc, with denial everyday.
The very first reaction to any disease is denial:
" There is nothing wrong with me. This is not serious.
It will soon pass ".

America has been in denial for 10 years that we have a
critical problem in healthcare.
It has only been courtesy of forbearing hospitals, nurses
and docs who where too king to let somebody die and
throw him out on the street.
We did not shut down the system like an Airline strike.
America took advantage of that goodness, instead of trying to
fix the problem. So that made the problem even worse
and harder to fix rapidly.
Now the problem is off docs, nurses and hospitals hands
and is in the hands if America.
The safety valve, the emergency room is now closed.
Not even a Presidential edict can open it.

It is too late to solve the healthcare problem now by usual
means and so we will collapse, because the cots have now
been passed directly to the consumer and he can't pay them because
the economy is down.
So he won't buy stocks, goods, cars, PCs, until his he
has paid the large and getting larger healthcare bill.
That will zap confidence. High energy won't help either.

I agree with you:

Does not look good from here.Regardless of what
any technician says. This is not your old grandma's
Oldsmobile any more.It is a different game now.
New rules apply.Rules yet to be written.

Bad weekend coming up I am afraid,

TA

JRI: Okay, pretty safe to go ahead & start accumulating right now. Masses are chunking in the towel, blood in the streets. Thumbs up to buy!
