my point is that if you think the markets are overpriced and going down, you are better off shorting equities than going long gold.

Edit: And as I stated before, I do own some gold as a potential currency hedge, though I think it's a wrong way bet.

Let's put it this way... take HM... has a RISING D+ trend over the peaks... and if it holds true to form, could pop a coupla points in the next week or so.

Now if what is going on now is a full blown CRASH (there... I said it), then it MIGHT be a good hedge.
