Lakers,

<< Suggest you check out the IS-833, which is standardized by 3gpp2 with cooperation from 3gpp(gasp) >>

I'll print out IS-833 & 834 and read them at Happy Hour this evening. <g>

Hope someone is commercializing and developing test procedures for them before the IS-2000b series is fully developed. The world has enough phased interim standards.

<< Watch that interview with Dr.J and see what is in his hand by the end of the interview. >>

In his hand ... by the end ... the pdQ Smartphone? I played with one yesterday. Waiting for the 6035, myself, which is why I was playing with the pdQ yesterday.

.. or are you talking about the Korean jobby which looked like the SKY IM2300? I Wonder if more than 20,000 were manufactured and when the Samsung's with streaming AOD/VOD will be available with services to support them so we can proceed from what the Korean press calls pilot or trial stage to what they call full commercialization. I certainly am looking forward to that. In the Interim ... "God Send Mobiles" ... fully debugged.

I enjoyed the demo of the 1xEV modem at 84 kbps (allowing many users - simultaneously sharing bandwidth - high burst rate, allowing a diversity of applications, etc.). It was nicely, and realistically presented.

I must say I am glad to see Dr. Jacobs at the Congress this year. The Perry "No Show" last year set a very negative tone, and provided a lot of amusement for the GSM carriers.

The video clip was very good, and I hope QUALCOMM is making a splash at the Congress.
