CDMA is exceptionally relevant to Nokia, IMO. Both the cdmaOen variety, and the 1xRTT/1XTREME variety and especially the W-CDMA variety where they have been expending the majority of their R&D dollars for the last few years. I used "stupid" as the antonym of "smart" as in "Smart CDMA operators", as opposed perhaps to others who chose W-CDMA over cdma2000 for a 3G IMT-2000 solution. Maybe "daft" is a better term. As carranza2 points out the "Euros may, if they have a lucid interval, go to CDMA2000/GSM overlay which should be available before WCDMA is in full rollout".
