Anyway, I guess the point I was originally trying to make got lost in the argument, which was the different standards of judgement used for the Cold War actions of both the Soviet Union and America. If America was overly paranoid, so was the Soviet Union.

The Soviet Union clearly did not understand our intentions, but after losing tens of millions of civilians to foreign invaders, they had reason to be paranoid.

What was our excuse?
