It's also possible to more than offset a currency futures position in the physical forward market. It would also
be possible to run dummy positions in the futures to try to lure people into try to trade in the direction of
the commercials, when in fact, you're taking the other side of the commercial's position trade.

also since the interbank market will arb between the futures and spot, they could have an arbitraguer position
in the currency future and not a true directional positioning trade on.

the commercial position in the Yen in 1998 did prove to be correct one in the end. I recall the article from
Barron's that was talking the Hedge guy using th CFTC data.
