Why do you believe farms, family or otherwise, are entitled to government subsidies? Why not family grocery stores and laundries and any other family business? Why are farms so special?

This is a subsidy for millionaires. It takes a lot of money to purchase a farm and then equip it. Why should some guy making $6 an hour pay for this?

If they cannot make it without subsidies, let them sink. If food is needed, somebody else, a corporation maybe, will use the land for farming.

I think that's because corporate agriculture has a much greater effect on the general condition of the "family farm" than any estate tax, and therefore a greater influence over legislation that might "defend" the family farm.
