For all the people who feel the need to lecture ....for those that previously earned a salary and pay taxes...who now trade for their income and pay at the same rate as when they were paid a salary....and know the difference between investing and trading...I think we know what we would rather do.

>>"The biggest danger of trading this market is having to pay taxes...."<<

Danger? Naah, having to pay taxes mean you are actually making money cumulatively. Otherwise, your carryover losses from prior years will offset all your recent capital gain. So, if you are paying capital gain taxes this year, Congratulation!

>>"... and thereby reducing whatever meager gains you manage to eke out in such a turbulent environment."<<

In a turbulent market environment, I'm not going to manage anything. I prefer to stay on the sideline with most of my cash. Occasionally, I'll daytrade the index when I see some good setup. Other than that, I'll wait for the market to find its footing.

Cheers!
