Nikkei hits fresh 28-mth intraday

Wednesday February 21, 8:07 pm Eastern Time

Telecoms shares joined high-tech stocks in the Nasdaq-induced slide. NTT DoCoMo Inc , dominant mobile phone operator and Japan's largest
company by market capitalisation, fell 1.96 percent to 2.0 million yen, from the 2.066-million-yen level at which DoCoMo shares were sold in its
recent new share issue.

One of the major losers in early morning trade was game software developer Konami Co Ltd , which said on Wednesday it will issue up to 15 million
new shares globally next month to raise up to 100 billion yen.

The issuance of the 15 million new shares will raise the total number of outstanding Konami shares by 13.2 percent.

Konami shares fell 14.57 percent to 4,750 yen. They have shed half of their value over the past year, compared to the Nikkei average's 33 percent
slide.
