United Arab Emirates (UAE) Petroleum Minister in Sudan for Boosting Cooperation

KHARTOUM (Feb. 21) XINHUA - Petroleum and Mineral Resources of the United Arab
Emirates (UAE) Obeid Bin Saif al Nasiri arrived here on Wednesday for a six-day visit.

Nasiri's visit was aimed at enhancing cooperation in the field of oil industry between
Sudan and the UAE, Sudanese Energy and Mining Minister Awadh Ahmed al-Gaz said.

Upon his arrival at the Khartoum Airport, Nasiri expressed hope that a deal on
cooperation between the two ministries would be signed during his visit.

He stressed the role of the private and public sectors in bilateral cooperation, adding
that the suitable environment in Sudan would help lure more investments from the
UAE and other countries.

The two ministers are expected to hold discussions on Thursday. Later, Nasiri will
visit Sudan's oil complex before meeting with Sudanese ministers of industry, finance
and national economy.

Sudanese President Omar el-Bashir will receive Nasiri on Sunday and a protocol will
be signed on Monday before he flies home.
