Greenspan needs to play the game a couple of moves forward, and I don't think he has been. He's happy when he sees productivity improvements, but sometimes doesn't seem to recognize that for productivity to improve there must be production. That requires consumption, which in turn requires consumer confidence, the element which is lacking currently. Dubya doesn't help when he accentuates the negative (or merely sits on his *ss at the ranch). All JMHO. Charles Tutt (TM)
