A.L. Regan, thank you so much for the timely explanation on tax considerations. Actually a rep at fidelity, put the same thing to me the other day, regarding a stepped up basis, but then someone else made me question that thanks. So I take it that this applies to the rentry of the same stock one took the loss in? So I won't get the tax loss, but I won't be taxed, until I make up the points I lost. Thanks

I would like to add my thanks to you for this and some other recent posts you've made. Reminders on handling of taxes and perspective on other "down" markets are helpful to folks who haven't dealt with some of these issues in recent years.

Here's an interesting perspective on the state of the economy, with some very interesting commentary on the trucking industry which I was not aware to be in such a parlous state:
