After such a thoughtful post by prophet often I have to listen to you say "the economy is doing fine"? What, fine meaning if you short it you will do fine? If Greenspan doesn't cut very soon he subjects the entire world to a possible longterm recession. US interest rates are simply too high. Why pay 5.5% when growth and inflation are zero? Or less than zero? Watch oil prices go back down to the 20-23 range by the way. The the only inflation will be the new postage stamp. In Europe last year I noticed money market funds earned about 3.75%. That's where we should be too.
Why is our money expensive than everyone else's?
