Pyramid is OK. I mostly stick with Sierra Nevada, which is fairly good. Of the darker ones,I like the Full Sail Amber. Some local microbrews have good beer too, but its sometimes inconsistent. My suspicion is that its because of the water quality, which in CA is very low. Water is the most important ingredient in beer and virtually all German breweries have their own spring of water- which is certainly not possible in CA.
