What were they?

Don't know yet. A year or so ago, I could see the side of the engine of one. A flat-head 4-cylinder. It was upside down and I couldn't see a lot of it, but it didn't look like a Ford.

Since then, I'd moved quite a bit of dirt and trash around down there and today I was having trouble even finding the cars. I know within about 20 feet where they are, but haven't hit them yet.

My wife is actually thrilled that I told her that the next two days won't be spent working on my next gig (that's falling into place and I'll let everyone know by the end of next week) but will instead be spent getting those cars out of the ground, taking pictures to put online, and trying to ID them.

Whatever they are, they won't be pretty. They were buried by a bulldozer while one of the ponds was being built many years ago.

I am incredibly jealous...

I used to envy David Lee Roth's life. Then I got old. Now I envy mine. :) Two days ahead of me in which I'll be sitting in heavy equipment, drinking beer and digging for cars that've been calling out to me for 4 years. I can't imagine it getting any better than that.
