It is a buy and hold but its not realistic to include stocks in the contest that never trade.

Barney, I think you misunderstood.

What they mean is that you should have to pick stocks that have some minimum average daily volume - so that you wouldn't be picking stocks that trade very thinly.

NOT that you should be required to trade 10,000 shares a day in your portfolio! :)
