Since I couldn't possibly find the post now ~ my favorite of my local boys. He has been dreaming of life beyond our little mountain and holler for as long as I've known him. He is soooo naive. Such a mountain boy. He left for Chicago on Sunday. In good hands, I think.

We've been separated by circumstance and other people's opinions. By him finding people to hang out with that meant he didn't need to be around me so much. By my going off to another place on my own adventure for over a year. but we keep seeming to meet up. And it's one of those things where it clicks as soon as we see each other. There was a night, many years ago, when we made an oath as we sat by the fire, that no matter what happened, we would always have each other to come back to. Some things are like that. We go our ways. We live our lives. But we know the ones we can always come back to.

Geez, am I sounding sentimental? Must be from listening to the same song for the last hour. Anyway, I was going on about him the other day. And feeling the pain of seeing such a youngster go off into a world that is so foreign to him.
