Hi Susan, I sense that you are a good person. Welcome to this discussion thread. My writing style is at times dramatic, other times childlike (as opposed to childish), but within my postings, some nugget of worth should be present. And, so, I post again.

We all benefited from the mania, and those that did not, were too slow or too unaware, or too greedy. Whichever way, they would have lost their eggs in one thing or another, and thus better to us.

Now, the nature of the game has changed. We must now preserve what was won, so that we get to play again.

You are right in that people are resilient, as the Russians and Japanese have proven, again and again. I believe I am resilient equally. I do not wish to be tested.

I learned my lessons so many times, through numerous crisis in numerous markets, and have not been tested yet. Stress test is OK. Destructive test is not recommended.

You can doubt the extent of the coming decline, but hedge your bets so that you would be OK if you are wrong.

I cry "doomsday", but realize it only takes 10% of a doomsday to make my day interesting in a bad way.

Run fast, silent, deep into the hills, but run. Do not wait around to see what the thumping of the ground is all about, at least not up close.

The railroad bonds I spoke of earlier also produced lasting benefits, just not for the buyers.
