Core Drilling Commenced On Ice Property Diamond Exploration
9/5/01

SKEENA RESOURCES LIMITED ("SKE-V;SKREF-L0") - Core Drilling
Commenced On Ice Property Diamond Exploration - Project At Elkford In
Southern British Columbia

Skeena Resources Limited ("SKE" on the Canadian Venture Exchange), is
pleased to announce that core drilling has commenced on its Ice Property
diamond exploration project at Elkford in southern British Columbia. Fieldwork is
being directed at three exposed Kimberlite pipes discovered in the mid-1990's but
not previously drilled. Surface sampling of weathered material has previously
yielded eight macrodiamonds. The largest stone was approximately 0.185 ct (~4
x 3 x 2 mm).

Stream sediment sampling of the property has indicated at least four additional
anomalous areas with geochemical signatures similar to the known pipes.

Skeena has an option on the Ice Property to earn a 75% equity interest from
Standard Mining Inc. and, under certain conditions, to purchase the remaining
25% interest.

The drilling program is being supervised by Mr. Robin E. Chisholm, P.Geol., a
"qualified person" as defined under National Policy 43-101. TEL: (604) 684-8725
