About one year year ago I recall shaking my head in disbelief when I heard just then elected Senator Schulner (probably misspelled) from New York state that Greenspan should be "revered" by the american people... Here we are one year later and the U.S. economy has gone from the envy of the world to a recession which may (from the action of the stock markets) precipitate a worldwide recession. I guess all of this just reinforces my belief that in the final analysis bureaucrats will manage to find a way to screw things up and that any "successes" which they achieve are more likely the result of luck than anything else.
