Hey Venkie...

I'd like to share a quick little side note. You know how it always creates a stir when some famous poster from his or her own thread drops in on another well-established thread? Lots of "welcomes", "thank yous", "please drop by more oftens".....etc.

Last night I had the privilege of seeing one of the masters....Willie Nelson....at the Fillmore here in San Francisco. It was the first time he played what many folks consider one of the churches of rock and roll. You name it...the Who...Pink Floyd...Hendrix...thousands of bands over the years have put on fantastic shows in that relatively small (~1000 people), mostly standing-room venue. There's no other concert hall where I've seen more shows (and I see quite a few).

Well....I suspect you've seen Willie plenty but it was a long-awaited first for me...and WOW. I did not know the man was a smooooooooth, take-no-prisoners guitar god! His voice sounded great...he's in great shape (my date thought he had a nice butt)...he played for just under 2 and 1/2 hours........but MAN, the guy played Spanish/Latin, jazz, blues, bluegrass and even some surf-sounding solos all on that beat-up old acoustic. Huge Texas flag behind the stage for a backdrop made me think you all must be very proud of him.

Thanks for lettin' him light up our little scene on a rainy Winter night. Hope he stops by more often.
