They are indeed. I expect them to be very active with W-CDMA, and I am hoping they will have a dual-mode PDC W-CDMA offering.

I was referring to cdmaOne/cdma2000 however. They specifically said they will not have a cdmaOne/cdma2000 offer in Japan, because of the proprietary nature of cdmaOne/cdma2000 there. Japan reverses the receive and transmit channels, and so there is no carry over benefit to any other market in the world. Larry Paulson commented very specifically on this in his Capital Market Days presentation on Nokia's CDMA strategy.

This presentation is one of the reasons I retook a position in Nokia in December after several years out, and am continueing to add on dips (which have been all to frequent and are better charaterized as slides than dips).
