Which job is more important?

In a free market pay is not determined by some vote about what job is more important but by supply and demand. The supply for people that can design good microprocessors is much lower then the supply of people that are qualified to teach. Perhaps some of the disparity could be made up by some form of merit pay for teachers. (The supply of great teachers is far lower then the supply of average teachers), but there are practical and political difficulties with this idea.

Scumbria Re..Glad to see we found an area of agreement.<<

Thanks a lot for taking a lot of the fun out of my life. <<<<<<<<<<ggg>

In the mid 1980's I taught at private boarding school in Arizona, which was largely financed by the State of California. Most of the students were sent there by California, for the express purpose of keeping them out of the California school system.

Just curious, if you did teach at a private boarding school, and feel you :and by extension the school; did a good job, why are you against vouchers that GW is in favor of, as they would greatly help the private schools.
