If however a 14 year old drug addict expressed the idea "you know it would be nice to get pregnant and have a baby", feel free to let her have both barrells as you try to discourage her. Good. It looks like we agree on the principle of discouraging unsuitable people from seeking to get pregnant. All that is needed, then, is to get some consensus on what personal qualities and circumstances are required to be a successful parent. You think $75K and home ownership creates too high a bar, I'm willing to explore alternatives. As for rudeness, I know that you know me well enough to know that I appreciate civility. And also that I'm very tolerant of other people's activities and respectful of their privacy. But if a rude statement by me keeps an active drunk or someone with an unresolved anger management problem from deciding to have children before those problems are well under control, I'll do it. With hesitation, but without remorse. Karen
