RE: Ed is right for the more conservative. If I had listened to him last year at this time, I would've not lost as much as I did. But then again, I would've never made nearly as much prior to that, either.

Following the herd mentality in 1999 was a no-brainer and I tend to believe Ed did as well as any of us in that period. The trick is to know when to go against the herd mentality.

You may have a point about being ahead of the herd on volatile issues but you are back playing the casino again. It may pay off handsomely or not. The money I gave back last year was from April to September trying to get a jump on the herd. IMO this is too risky to attempt during this bear market. Maybe, if I had the time, I would trade in and out daily, but I don't.
