yep.......I now have what I call self imposed margin calls......if my margin % gets more then 30%, I sell something or deposit funds into acct if I can.....and I try to keep it under 20%.....heck I had it down to like 5% not lon ago, but the downturn put it into the 20's....anyway, like you said, I will not rush out at present to buy on margin, but I will if certain stocks hit my buy prices...I have no problem buying sunw at $15 if thats where they want to bring it and etc, etc.......I do agree with joel though.....every rally will be met with selling until finally it doesnt and we sustain upward movement. I have no idea if that happens tomorrow, next week, next year, or 10 years from now, but eventually we will get a rally that sustains and slowly sets higher highs....or explosively with all the sideline money and short covering....but until then, and we dont know when then is.......rally's will be met with selling...but at the same time, it's not a bad time to be selective and start building some positions in some beaten down quality issues that you firmly believe will be better off 5 years from now....
