Dave:

Your inquiry is well-founded. Perhaps Thai does not understand precisely what AFCI does, and how it is distinguished from EFNT. While both operate in the DSL sector, their businesses are quite different.

Simply stated, AFCI provides a remote facilities along the loop that create a platform that enable, among other things, the ability to provision DSL beyond current limits as measured from the CO. The typical customer of AFCI is an incumbent carrier. In contrast, EFNT is a manufacturer of customer premise equipment that aids providers of DSLs to establish remote networks serviced over DSLs. EFNT typical customer is NOT an ILEC, but more likely end users as well as CLECs interested in offering a "one-stop" solution to their business clients, and in the residential market, more likely managers of multi-tenant buildings.
