International FiberCom Inc. announced that its Network Services Group has
received the necessary permits under the California Environmental Quality Act
(CEQA) to begin work on the construction phase of a design-build contract with
Reston, VA-based Velocita (formerly PF.Net) for the engineering and installation of
a fiber-optic network in California.

Mike and Thread...What's the outlook for IFCI going forward from here? Declining interest rate environment should help a bit, but uncertainty about telecom spending weighs on them, and lack of visibility. Hard to justify ditch-digging if customers won't pay for services, but hard to avoid ditch-digging if you want your network to connect to potential customers. The stock price is the lowest in over 3 years. Looking for inexpensive stocks with potential to outperform going forward. Management capability is a real question here. Note, I owned IFCI from the low 7's to over 20 where I sold, missing the run to the 30's. Snake Eyes was always annoying, but seemingly correct about the management ability. I bought a small position back at 12, then bought a much larger block at 4 within the last week. Looking for a rebound to $5+ or so in the near-term. jbk
