re WCDMA delay:

1. I can't tell whether WCDMA was delayed because the technology won't be ready, or because the companies that were going to do the buildout have run out of borrowing ability and/or cash flow problems.

2. If CDMA2000 schedule is unchanged, (with both technology ready and capital available, years earlier than for WCDMA), then it will be a proven system in Asia and America, while the Europeans fiddle. QCOM owns CDMA2000, it is not contested. On the other hand, QCOM IP in WCDMA was contested, everything still up in the air (and in the courts). So this announcement looks like QCOM has a big win in the turf war.

3. It looks like the spin is "WCOM warns". Tech is out of favor. Telecom is out of favor. Forward EPS expectations for this year and next shouldn't be affected by this announcement. After that, it's actually a positive. So I don't see how this is a "warning".
