<<GSM 2100>>

LOL! I guess that is what the Koreans will be installing too, eh?

You really have the story dead on so far, PCSTEL, but DOS 7.0 is not going to cut it.

"So, it will be that we will soon see GSM 2100 announced.. It will be a simple, painless, and cost effective addition to their GSM operators existing networks.. It will use the same physical Base Station/Tower Locations.. And employ most of the existing core GSM-MAP infrastructure... The Euros will announce Mulit-Mode TDMA//GSM/GPRS 800/900/1800/1900/2100 phones.. It will become the most cost effective solution (WDMA) for operators to "extract" revenue from their "3G" spectrum."

Capacity and throughput, my friend, is the name of the game. Where is the gain in either by going to 2100Mhz? What a load of crap. GPRS is going to be more efficient at 2100Mhz. Hardly. What a way to efficiently use existing spectrum. How does this gain the Euro"pee"ons a larger world market. It seems it will isolate them. China, India, Japan, Korea, South America, Australia, North America.... will all be moving to CDMA and the Euro"pee"ons will all have tissue damage about the head.

pcstel,

Just one little critical item that is a prerequisite for quickly and efficiently delivering wireless mobile data that you omit from your hypothesis. I believe it's called CDMA. Other than that it sounds good <LOL>
