I used Quote.com for a long time, even through its issues, but eventually the issues outweighed the benefit - which for me was simply that it was 'good enough' for what I do, most of the time. But being a high speed futures trader, I must admit I feel more comfortable with a more robust data offering. Spring 2000 I had three feeds going at one point, mostly for eval and partly for backup. eSignal stuck out in my mind and i'm pleased to use them now and recommend them.none at all, judging by my ever increasing equity and the spectacular triple digit percentage gains this year, thanks, in part, to this wonderful tool, imperfect as it is. yep, just stocks, up and specially down, and no futures. Well done. Its been a particularly good environment for traders, not for investors. I am also fond of the short side, since price tends to move much faster on the way down.not necessarily you, but sometimes it almost feels as if some people here are blaming the tool for their poor trading results. they don't say it, but that's how it sounds. There are some, I am sure, who fit this description well. Traders should never blame a tool for trading failures, only themselves for choosing to use a tool if it does indeed contribute to failure. Its easy to switch, there are plenty of options. However there are many, many professionals - in all senses of the word - that have been using the product since the early days and their frustration is directed at the failure of the company to properly support the product, stabilize it, enhance it. Days go by without fixes to bars because they lack the tool, after all these years, to make certain repairs to data. They are a data company and they don't have the tools to manage the data. Pretty silly - laughable actually. I'll lean on my IT background for that judgement call.and this poor innocent guy, qcom_datadept, is vilified and insulted as if he where the hunchback of Notredame. Personally I have always supported and defended the work that the support and QC representatives put into this thread and eGroups forum. They are not the cause of the issues. Support rarely are at fault. Management is. Or rather, mismanagement. So here we are, almost agreeing. My disagreement with you is that you try to portray the mismanagement of the application and customer base as 'no big deal'. But it is a big deal, and as increasing numbers of users appear to be discovering, plenty of options are out there. Once upon a time when was into fundamental analysis, I was always looking for chronically mismanaged companies to short, because ultimately they are the ones that stand the best chance of dropping big, sometimes to zero. I think terra-lycos-quote.com is probably a good candidate, based on mismanagement alone. !! -- just another rat
