gott

these profile picture probs are all matters that scott lux should hear about. i have posted to him on the subject more than a few times. he's always working on it, or the prob is intermittent and soon goes away.

kinda' the same thing for paul senior asking how to unsubscribe from the si newsletters. there are two and they are somewhat persistent in their refusal to go away. i also posted to some si management-type on this matter and things got way more complicated than they ever should have.

what annoyed me about the newsletter is that they have this obnoxious language about me having subscribed or indicated i wanted the darn thing, when in fact, by default, si sends them to everyone and it is incumbent upon each individual to unsubscribe.

of course, you are then sent a follow up email verifying that you have unsubscribed and asking if you are interested in subscribing.

it's all just too surreal. si clearly has shown the way in how not to run a subscription newsletter service.

:)

Sorry, I cannot help your picture problem. I clicked on both links in your post and an image of three boats and a bridge appeared. This seemed normal. This same picture appeared in your profile when I checked it too.

I emptied my cache, closed my browser, opened my browser again, and checked your profile. As you had indicated, the image was replaced by a box with a red X. I saved your profile as a file and couldn't spot anything out of place, but I'm no HTML expert.

Cheers, PW.
