Nothing like some lame attempt at social engineering. When will you people ever learn?!

How very sad and pathetic.

It's not a redistribution of wealth. It's a waste of capital.

Rich:

I am not so much interested in a redistribution of wealth when I say keep the estate tax. We have had it for a long time and haven't managed to do much redistribution. In fact the tragedy of our system is that a lot of folks who worked hard but are unsophisticated pay the tax, while the really wealthy find ways to avoid the tax. The reason I think we should keep the tax is so that we do not lose the revenue so we can get the deficit paid off.

I greatly dislike the notion of leaving this for my kids to pay. I think we should simplify the estate tax laws so that people don't need lawyers to get the full benefit of them, but it should stay where it is until the deficit is paid off.
