Tim,

Bush, Blair Seal 'Special Relationship'

By Steve Holland

CAMP DAVID, Md. (Reuters) - President George W. Bush (news - web sites) and British Prime Minister Tony Blair (news - web sites) succumbed to each other's ''charm offensive `` on Friday

I was always a little suspicious about Blair, but I didn't realize that Bush had those tendencies.

Tim,

Looks like Bush incompetence in foreign policy is starting to kick in:

Saturday February 24 7:50 AM ET
Powell, Ivanov Start First Direct Talks of Bush Era

CAIRO (Reuters) - Secretary of State Colin Powell (news - web sites) and Russian Foreign Minister Igor Ivanov began their first face-to-face talks in Cairo on Saturday, with disputed missile defense schemes expected to top their agenda.

The two men shook hands and smiled for the cameras before starting discussions expected to touch on arms control, the collapsed Middle East peace process and Iraq. It was the first high-level meeting between the former Cold War foes since the election of U.S. President George W. Bush (news - web sites).

Foreign policy analysts expect the two sides to highlight areas for future discussions rather than tackle detailed policy issues, the most pressing of which is a U.S. plan to deploy a national missile defense (NMD) system.

Passions on the issue have been stoked by incoming Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld, who said Russia only had itself to blame for NMD because as an ``active proliferator'' it had spread nuclear and missile know-how.

That drew a curt response from Russian President Vladimir Putin (news - web sites), who told Washington to drop the ``evil empire'' rhetoric of the Cold War era.

Harry Dent, AIM Dent Demographic Trends Fund

He expects the NASDAQ to hit 25,000 by 2008

Tim,

Somehow I missed this post. Forget 25000, I would be happy with 5000. I do think it will bounce here around 2000 or 2100 but will be stuck in a trading range.....2100 to say 2800 for several mos until things get clearer.

I am giving up on the notion of making a lot of $$$ in the markets this year. I will be happy with 20-30% gain if that.
